Yes, Uganda is a safe and welcoming destination for international travelers, including solo travelers, couples, and families. Like any international trip, we recommend taking normal precautions, such as having travel insurance, staying aware of your surroundings in towns and cities, and following your guide’s safety instructions during gorilla trekking and safari activities.
The Uganda Wildlife Authority requires all gorilla trekkers to be at least 15 years old. This rule helps protect mountain gorillas from potential health risks, including childhood illnesses that could be transmitted through close human contact.
We include airport pickup from Entebbe International Airport as part of your safari package. Our professional driver-guide will welcome you on arrival and provide a comfortable transfer to your first night’s accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe before your safari begins.
The dry seasons from June to August and December to February offer the best trekking conditions, with firmer forest trails and easier hiking experiences. The wetter months of April, May, and November can still be excellent for gorilla trekking, offering fewer crowds and possible discounted gorilla permits, making them a great option for flexible travelers looking for better value.
